Getting Started

Perhaps the four main things that new members want to do is login to the system, read messages, reply to an existing message 'threads' and then start up their own 'new' topics.   These instructions explain how to do these things to get you on your way ~ happy chatting.

 

Login to the Yorkshire Expats Forum
STEP 1 Go the the site and then under the description choose the option to 'Sign In'

STEP 2 Enter your details (the ones you used when you signed up) and then click the 'sign in' button at the bottom of this box.

 

You then automatically return to the 'full' forum category/board listing.

Navigation and Replying to a message

STEP 1 Generally, to navigate just click a topic heading.  Click 'home' to return to the full listing.

Navigate to the topic you wish to make a reply to.  you will perhaps have already done this to make the posting in the first place.

If you wanted to go to the "That's Entertainment" board then simply click on it from the listing.

STEP 2 Topic listings looks a little like this.  However this example was produced some time ago and as messages are always changing then you will see something similar to this but it will be different.

Find the topic that interests you.  Again by 'clicking' at it. 

Shortly you will be displayed with a list of topic details followed by all the 'postings' in chronoligical order from the other members on this topic.

STEP 3 Scroll down to the bottom thread and you will see nearby an option to 'reply to this message'.  Click this option.

This box will then appear.  Here you can type in your reply and then send it by clicking the  REPLY  THIS  MESSAGE  button.

Starting a New Topic

STEP 1 Navigate to the correct category and board.  Then from under the forum description, choose, POST  A  NEW  MESSAGE newpost.jpg (9071 bytes)
STEP 2 Complete the boxes as required, type in your topic information then choose POST  THIS  TOPIC.

It's a good idea to PREVIEW your post first and check for mistakes.
